В /etc/ppp.conf добавляешь

rol:
 set phone 707-070
 set authname LOGIN
 set authkey PASSWORD

 set ifaddr 10.0.0.1/0 10.0.0.2/0 255.255.255.0 0.0.0.0
 add default HISADDR
---cut 8<---

И звонишь: ppp -ddial rol

PS Уверен, что у тебя не win-modem?
